Social Studies can be a ton of fun!  In 4th grade, we start with map skills, so here is a little bit of computer fun to test your map skills:

To play you need to read the directions

1. Use the map quest website to locate cities
2. Record your answers
3. Unscramble the final word to find out the answer to the question "Where in the World is Mrs. DiBattista?"
4. Good luck! 

Here are the directions:

• Find the names of the cities using the decimal coordinates provided below. Keep track of the names of the cities you have discovered.
• Once all of the cities have been found, take the first letter of each city and unscramble them to discover "Where in the World Mrs. DiBattista is."
• When you believe you have the answer, post a comment in this section stating what you think the answer is and don't forget to sign your name.

To Use the Decimal Coordinates:

On the internet, go to MapQuest: Maps by Lat/Long. Input the given decimal value coordinates into the "Map a lat/long coordinate using decimal values" section.

 (Do you think the -(negative) sign matters in the coordinates? )

 When you discover the name of the city, copy it down correctly.

Decimal value coordinates read as follows: (latitude, longitude).

Hint: The correct city is marked by a red star on the resulting map.
